Those of us who have actually been paying attention have known for a very long time that Biden is half out of it. It's kind of stunning to see the reaction from the left today, many of whom have finally realized that the wheel is spinning but the hamster has been gone a for awhile now. Joe Biden is not capable of leading a zoom meeting, much less the free world.
Jeff Greenfield: "Not to put too fine a point on it, but this was the worst debate performance of any general election presidential candidate in modern American history."
CNN is getting blasted too, by libs who thought Trump was given and advantage by the moderators. The truth is, many of us were concerned that the terms agreed to would do nothing but benefits Biden. I'm sure that's what CNN thought, too. Besides, if Biden thought Trump was lying, HE should have done a better job of correcting him. The "debate" should always be between the candidates, not between the moderators and the candidates. But because Biden could barely hold his thoughts together, he wasn't able to refute much that Trump said.
Stephen King: "The networks are packaging this as entertainment, like a boxing match, and sellling democracy down the river."
John Cusack: "CNN letting this deranged liar lie with no consequences....this is the end, my beautiful friends."
Some on the left today are arguing that the Democrats knew this all along and purposely held this debate after voters were unable to choose any other nominees, but with plenty of time before the election to strap him to a hand truck and wheel him out. This would of course, give all the power to the Democrat party operatives to select the person they want to replace Biden. And if the voters hate the other side enough, this ploy might work.
The GOP has tried to do this many times, deciding for us whose turn it is, and not listening to voters. It will be interesting to see what happens if Democrats try to put someone in who only appeals to the party elites. No one likes being force-fed.
I have said for a very long time that power-hungry Jill Biden is the real problem here. As a wife, I would never allow my husband to be out on the public stage, humiliating himself as Jill is repeatedly allowing to happen. Last night she appeared with Joe after the debate and actually congratulated him like he was a six-year-old kid telling him, "Oh Joe, you answered all the questions so well." it was embarrassing and frankly creepy. Reactions to Jill Biden have been very harsh:
Peter Heinlein: Probably not a good idea to have Jill Biden talk to Joe like he's a toddler on national television."
Riley Gaines, activist and champion swimmer: "Jill Biden is certifiably terrifying. All while Joe sits and waits for his juice box."
End Wokeness on X: "Jill Biden is a monster".
Panic is ensuing among the people who apparently were somehow unaware of how bad Joe was, because the only thing they really care about is power. Many will vote for whoever the Dems put up, because to them, Trump is the devil. But you do have to wonder how many viewers previously on the fence were converted to Trump voters last night. They won't be so easily swayed by a new face who represents the same failed Dem policies.
